The Master of Science in 刑事司法 (MSCJ) degree 程序 began in 2001 at BGSU. The MSCJ degree prepares students for leadership positions in criminal justice agencies, as well as prepares students for law school or a doctoral 程序 if interested. The MSCJ 课程 integrates theory 和 博天堂官方网站 to help inform effective responses to contemporary challenges facing the criminal justice system. The MSCJ 课程 is taught by faculty actively involved in 政策-relevant 博天堂官方网站 or with a professional background in criminal justice.

Admission Requirements

Applicants are required to submit: (1) scanned copies of official or unofficial transcripts from all institutions attended; (2) two letters of recommendation; (3) a personal statement (250 to 750 words) detailing one's interest in the MSCJ 程序 和 professional goals; 和 (4) a resume outlining relevant academic 和 professional experiences.

To gain regular admission to the MSCJ degree 程序, applicants must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75分或平均绩点3分.0 in at least nine credit hours of graduate coursework. It may be possible to be conditionally admitted to the 程序, or start as a non-degree seeking student, if the minimum GPA requirement is not met.

International students are encouraged to start our 程序 in the fall semester for academic 和 administrative reasons. 

课程

For students in our on-campus 程序, two specializations are now available under the Master of Science in 刑事司法 (MSCJ) degree: Forensic Investigation 和 Victims 和 Offenders. These specializations provide students with a comprehensive foundation in theory, 博天堂官方网站, 政策, 和道德, while also providing students the flexibility to select elective courses that align with their professional 和 academic interests.

学生 in our part-time 在线 程序 complete the same foundational (required) courses as on-campus students, but the two specializations mentioned above are not available 在线 at this time. Online students instead complete the elective courses offered in our highly-ranked 在线 程序.

Funding is available through a limited number of stipends 和 tuition scholarships for on-campus students who qualify. A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 is also required for consideration.
